Harry Jobes Wrede, 82, passed peacefully Wednesday October 17, 2012. Harry was born on 02/26/1930 in Great Neck, Long Island, NY to Helen (Berta) and Richard Wrede. Harry graduated from ASU with a degree in Agriculture. After college he entered the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He remained in the reserves after his discharge. Harry started Valley North American Van Lines in Scottsdale with two partners and later expanded into Tucson. He also served as president of the Arizona Cancer Society and was the regional director of the Administrative Management Society (AMS). He was also on the Board of Directors of the Tucson Chapter of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Harry had a second career in real estate and continued to work late in life. He was an avid tennis, handball and racquetball player. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Clare, three children, Elizabeth of Phoenix, Steven of Scottsdale and John (Barbara) Wrede of Atlanta; six grandchildren: Ian and Duncan Hannan, Nicole, Parker, India and Molly Wrede and brother, Richard Wrede of Florida. The family would like to give special thanks to Casa de la Luz Hospice and their caregivers who provided loving personal care. There will be a private family service at a later date.
